The second international Christmas Light festival was also held as part of the Moscow Seasons and the New Year festival Journey into Christmas. This time, large-scale lighting compositions – arches – were used as a main design technique for decorating the urban areas.
Lighting arched structures decorated the main squares of Moscow and pedestrian areas, creating a single space in the central part of the city and an unusual festive landscape by means of an unforgettable architecture of light. For Tverskaya Street, French designers developed a project of city lighting posts shaped as glasses with champagne bubbles, which made the city's main street look grand and solemn.
For each pedestrian route between the festival venues, designers developed and proposed some elements that connected the territories – light trees, lanterns and numbers.
